Pollution

This is an example of oil in the ocean. It pollutes the life that lives in the ocean, including plants and animals. It effects abiotic and biotic animals by the pollution killing it.

Ecological Succession

This is an example of Ecological Succession.

Eel Adaptations

An Eel can shock anything that touches it. The shocking will stun the preadetor or prey so the Eel has an easy dinner.

Crawfish Adaptations

Crawfish has a hard shell like the Crab and Sea turtle. The shell is good for protection so when preadetors come the shell will protect them

Sea Turtle Adaptation

A sea turtle's adaptation is it's hard shell. It protects it from predators. The Sea Turtle hides in its shell when preadetors aproach.

OCEAN LANDFORMS

A gulf is a part of the ocean (or sea) that is partly surrounded by land (it is usually larger than a bay).

atoll

An atoll is a ring or partial ring of coral that forms an island

bay

a bay is a body of water that is partly enclosed by land

archipelago

archipelago is a group of island clustered to gather in the ocean

Unusual Symbiotic Relationship

This squid catches light bacteria that make sugar. The squid eats the sugar.

Tubeworms Adaptations

Tube worms have no mouth, eyes, or stomach ("gut"). Their survival depends on a symbiotic relationship with the billions of bacteria that live inside of them. These bacteria convert the chemicals that shoot out of the hydrothermal vents into food for the worm. This chemical-based food-making process is referred to as chemosynthesis.

Symbiotic Relationship

This symbiotic relationship shows a cleaner shrimp cleaning a eel. This is a positive symbiotic relation ship.

Lobster Adaptation

The lobster hard shell keeps it safe from predator

Humpback Whale Adaptations

Humpback whales are mammals. An adaptation that a Humpback whale has is that it can hold its breath for very long time.

Crab Adaptations

One adaptation that Crabs have are pinchers to protect it from predators.

Seaweed Adaptations

Seaweed has an air bladder that allows it to float high in the water to reach sunlight.

Shark Adaptations

If you look at a shark, you will see it has a number of special adaptations that allow it to fit into an ocean environment. A shark has fins and a streamlined body that help it swim through water. It has gills, which take in oxygen directly out of the water. Because of its gills, sharks can stay underwater and not have to come to the surface to breathe. Sharks also have a tremendous number of sharp teeth.

Clown fish Adaptations

The Clown fish has waxy skin that protects it from sea anemones.
